Seasoned caterers Yoliswa Madikiza and Getrude Nyalambisa are the duo behind the newest restaurant in Mthatha's Southernwood area. Imani Restaurant focuses on reimagining South-African favorites with a modern twist

The "Afro-fusion" menu promises a new approach to local favourites by incorporating worldly ingredients and techniques to traditional South African dishes. Dishes sure to soon form part of the eatery's signature offerings include their rooibos-pepper crusted steak and the imifino-pesto pasta.

According to Nyalambisa they aim to create a dining experience that showcases the richness and diversity of South-African cuisine. "It's a true homage to our culture, heritage, and the vibrant food scene of this incredible country."

Imani also prides itself on its commitment to sustainable dining. The eatery demonstrates this by partnering with organizations that rescue surplus food and engage in food recovery programs. "We believe in the power of conscious choices, and that even small actions can make a big difference. We're actively reducing food waste and giving back to those in need", said Madikiza.

The restaurant will be offering a tasting menu for its first 200 diners.
